First, thank you, everyone, for your patience and understanding involving the biweekly schedule for the new Lum and Abner comic strips.
My work for the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame will be finished in August.
The plaques I am sculpting contain five faces which is why it is taking all of my available work time to complete.
When are new strips coming up?
These new Lum and Abner comic strips are completed and will be published as follows:
Lum and Abner #575: Sunday, July 24, 2022.
Lum and Abner #576: Sunday, August 7, 2022.
Lum and Abner #577: Sunday, August 21, 2022.
(I corrected the date on #577! Sorry! I had it wrong!)
How many more 2020 reruns?
The daily reruns continue Monday through Saturday during the month of July 2022 and into August.
The final 2020 rerun, #494, will arrive on Saturday, August 6, 2022.
2021 strips started with #495, and those are already available on this website
starting at this link.
Will that be the end of reruns?
Not just yet!
Originally, the reruns were on another website.
The earliest Lum and Abner rerun on this website was posted in early 2021.
At present, you can start reading as early as
Lum and Abner #78, Sunday, November 25, 2012.
On Monday, August 7, 2022
we’ll start rerunning Lum and Abner #1 through 77
on Mondays through Saturdays.
These will wrap up on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
That will be the final daily Lum and Abner rerun!
(I’ll organize the holiday comics for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.)

What about The Jot ‘Em Down Journal?
The National Lum and Abner Society continues posting issues every Wednesday.
This week you’ll see #103, August 2001.
The final issue, #133, will be published Wednesday, February 14, 2023!
Issues #1-36 were originally reissued on the old NLAS website.
Unfortunately, due to some unwanted changes by the provider, all the pages of that 2007-2021 site were lost.
So, we started re-reissuing the first 36 issues on this site on Saturdays.
The Jot ‘Em Down Journal #36 will be reissued on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
