It took ol’ Lum a LONG TIME to get to Memphis!
In July of 2019, I was faced with a scheduling dilemma.
I had to sculpt three celebrity portraits for award plaques to be presented to the 2019 Texas Country Music Hall of Fame Inductees.
There just were not enough hours in the days and weeks to come!
So, for the first time in the history of the Lum and Abner comic strip, I had to pause production for three or four weeks until that work was completed. I reissued some older strips online and was able to get back to production barely in time to make the newspaper deadlines.
