Jackson Herod, a 1997 graduate of my CHS-TV department at Carthage High School, joined our audio cast as the voice of Snake Hogan!
I later changed the design of Snake because some readers felt he looked too much like Bluto, the villain in the Thimble Theatre comic strips and the animated Popeye cartoons!
Chester Lauck voiced Snake Hogan in the classic Lum and Abner radio programs and when I was attempting the voice it sounded too much like “me” so I added a gruff sound plus played around with the pitch digitally. Jackson has done a fine job taking over the voice since 2014!
