It was 20 years ago today!

Yes, it’s time for another anniversary in 2025! It was 20 years ago on Saturday, June 25, 2005 that the National Lum and Abner Society held its 20th NLAS Convention in Mena, Arkansas! (We skipped 2004!) Our guest of honor was actress/screenwriter/educator Kay Linaker, known to many as Kate Phillips! This was Kate’s third visit to the NLAS Convention! We screened her Lum and Abner film Two Weeks to Live and heard many fascinating anecdotes about Kate’s career! Sadly, 2005 became “the final NLAS Convention” – or so we thought at the time! 2025 is the only year in NLAS history (until 2035, 2045, etc.) in which we celebrate four of these “decade anniversaries” of our NLAS Conventions: 1985, 1995, 2005, and 2015! Stay tuned for one more! Below is a link to The Jot ‘Em Down Journal with our 2005 coverage of the event!
